New Project | First Birthday

Not only am I lucky enough to plan weddings but I also work on other events as well.  One of my favorites... FIRST birthday parties!  I've planned and coordinated 3 so far.  The one I'm working on now is for a little girl.  We've chosen the colors green & pink and the theme, Owl!
{ Hoot for Harlow! }
Super cute.  Today I worked on the boxes for the candy "bar."
I can't wait to see how the cake turns out!

{ boxes, ribbon & labels from beou coup }

A friend of mine { the lovely, Marina! } made the invitations and delivered them today!
They are A-MA-ZING!!  The time and detail that she put into them... unreal.
Nobody could choose which one to use.  Each design was so cute that we're using both!

Engagement Session | Amanda & Miguel

Meet Amanda & Miguel.  They recently had their engagement session done at Balboa Park in San Diego.  Their second location was on the beach in La Jolla at sunset.  We have so many amazing photo spots here! They are two of the sweetest people I've met and I'm so thrilled to be helping them plan their wedding.  To see more of their pictures, go to my website Misty Connelly Weddings & Events

Choosing the right diamond!

I went to my jeweler today to pick up a ring I had them make for me and I was in awe of all of the beautiful diamonds in their store!  It had been a while since I was there and I forgot how fun it was to look at diamonds { what... say it ain't so! }.  There was a couple in there looking at engagement rings and they were asking some very good questions.  Do you know what to look for when choosing a diamond??  I went to http://www.bluenile.com to get the scoop so that I could post it for all of you.
... For most people, buying a diamond is a new experience, but that doesn't mean it should be overwhelming. Understanding a diamond's quality characteristics is straightforward and simple.
Blue Nile's diamond education is designed to answer all your questions. It explains a diamond's characteristics, how those characteristics influence appearance, and which are more important than others. Here comes summer!

{Aloha Maui! Four Seasons Resort}

So summer is right around the corner and I know some of you are already planning your vacation.  Where is your favorite spot to escape to?!  Mine is Maui, Hawaii.  I've been vacationing there since I was in elementary school and it never gets old.
For us, it's all about relaxing on the beach with our favorite tasty beverage, a good book and of course an amazing view!

Who knew...

I signed up for a Twitter account not too long ago not really knowing what to expect. Come to find out, it has been a big help to me! I recently found a few very talented wedding vendors on Twitter and one of my brides has already booked two of them. I also plan on using one for a trash-the-dress session this summer. I look forward to meeting and working with many more amazing vendors. I'm sure I'll meet most of them via Twitter! Ahhhh technology.

I heart Paper & Thread!

I recently met with the oh-so-talented Lori from Paper & Thread. My November bride is having a tropical themed wedding at the Paradise Pointe Resort. I set up an appointment to have her meet with Lori to discuss ideas for her invitation suite as well as day of stationary pieces. I'm anxious to see the sample!
